Work with Dex

There are three pages in which you can define the Dex read:

1. Administration > Operator > (locate your operator) > Click on Dex tab.
   Changing parameters from the Operator page will affect all machines under this Operator.
2. Operations > Machines> (locate your machine) > Click on General tab > click on DEX/DDCMP > Type the required schedule in the "Dex read schedule" field > Check this attribute's checkbox > Click Actions > Update Queue
   If you do not see this attribute, go to the Attributes tab, enable this attribute and click save. 
3. Operations > Machines> (locate your machine) > Click on Dex tab.
   Changing parameters from the machine page will affect on this machine only.

Click Dex Read Schedule.

Click the (+) icons to learn more.

When done, either by periodic read or by precise read, click Save. 

It is important to mention that the server sends a Dex request to the queue of the machine on the selected time(s). Thus, the actual read might not be at the selected time and appear a few minutes afterward. 

Note: In the Operator page only, you can click on Apply Dex To and select if you want to apply the changes to sub-actors as well.

In this section, you can choose how to parse (read) the information from the Dex file.

For example Multiple Coins by / Divide Bills By / Multiple Tubes by - in some cases, the decimal place might be incorrect. You can fix it by adjusting the relevant parameter.

You can send the Dex read via email, SFTP, Amazon SQS and more.

To do so, check the box next to the desired option and enter the relevant details.

In addition, you can choose the formatting of the Dex file you will receive by selecting an option for the drop-down menu on the right-hand side.  

The first table presented in this section displays the IDs that have changed in the last read. 

Click the (+) to learn more.

In the bottom table, you can see all the Dex reads from the machine.
Clicking one of the reads will update the information displayed on the upper table.

Refresh - reloads the table to check if there are newer Dex files from the machine.

View Raw - changes the view to the raw Dex file you choose. To go back to the file list, click Back.

Copy Raw - Copies the content of the selected Dex file to the clipboard. You must select a Dex file and click View Raw to use this.

View parsed - Displays the selected Dex read in a table. Each ID is separated on a different line and most IDs have labels (definition) to understand the ID

Read Dex - Sends a Dex read request to the queue of the machine. This will give back only the changes (delta)

Read full dex - Sends a full Dex read to the queue of the machine. This will give back a full read with all IDs.
